Energoatom: Russia shells Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, damages monitoring sensors.
Russia shelled three radiation monitoring sensors around the site of the plant’s dry storage facility for spent nuclear fuel,
according to Ukraine’s state nuclear energy company Energoatom. Now it’s impossible to timely detect and respond to possible deteriorating radiation conditions or radiation leakage, the company said. Earlier today it was reported that Russia shelled the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant to “disconnect it from Ukraine’s energy system.”
