More than 1,000 women, children and over 500 wounded are remaining within the Azovstal plant in the besieged city of Mariupol.
The relevant statement was made by the Government portal, referring to Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister, Temporary Occupied Territories Reintegration Minister Iryna Vereshchuk, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Our military are not planning to surrender. But, there are civilians – more than 1,000 women, children and over 500 wounded, including those who are seriously wounded! They have the right to get out! We have communicated this information to Russia. They know how many civilians are staying there,” Vereshchuk told.
In her words, now it is impossible to get there and, moreover, to create a humanitarian corridor, as Russian troops are bombarding and launching missile strikes on the area, firing on approaches.
“I want the entire international community to be aware of and take what is happening now within the Azovstal plant exactly like that. They [Russian invaders – Ed.] do not want to hold any talks. This is a war crime that will be punished,” Vereshchuk stressed.
A reminder that the Russian armed aggression has caused one of the worst humanitarian catastrophes in the city of Mariupol.
On April 24, 2022, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan the need for immediate evacuation of civilians from Mariupol, including Azovstal, and immediate exchange of blocked troops.

Russian president Vladimir Putin plans to carry out forced mobilization in the occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.
“Pseudo-referendums in the occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions are aimed at declaring forced ‘mobilization’. After it is completed, Russia’s FSB plans to throw the ‘mobilized’ Ukrainians to the hottest spots of the front to storm the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine under the control of barrage detachments. In fact, this is an attempt to destroy Ukraine at the hands of Ukrainians themselves,” the Chief Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine posted on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
The Chief Directorate of Intelligence notes that personal data of residents of the temporarily occupied territories are collected allegedly for residents to receive “humanitarian aid” or social benefits. In reality, the data will be used at “referendums”. On the day of the “vote”, FSB officers will fill out ballots using the information obtained without the consent and physical presence of the Ukrainians themselves.
According to the Ukrainian intelligence, this special operation pursues the following goals: eliminating members of the Ukrainian ethnic group; conducting propaganda activities to impose on the population of Russia and the world the myth that “the population of the regions liberated from the Nazis began to fight against nationalist battalions.”
“It is another crime of the Putin regime against Ukraine and proof of the genocide against the Ukrainian nation,” the Chief Directorate of Intelligence underscores.
On February 24, 2022, Russia expanded its military aggression against Ukraine, launched in 2014, and began mass bombing of peaceful Ukrainian cities, towns, and villages. The Russian military unleashed mass terror in the temporarily occupied territories. The Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Territorial Defense Forces are fiercely resisting the Russian invaders and inflicting heavy losses on them.

Personal revulsion, disagreements, disparities, divergences between these two Slavic chief tribes , Russians and Ukrainians, both of them real great, highly civilized , very multiplied peoples – throw us, small distinct peoples in their very vicinity, to a sink hole of uncertainties, into an existential danger. Our tiny existence can be swallowed into their quarrels. Only the number of Ukrainian child and women refugees of war soon overcome the number of whole people of Finland. Their displaced ones from destroyed homes inside their home country Ukraine are the number of citizens in Finland, doubled already. And what happened to homes, buildings, hospitals, clinics, schools, universities , vehicles, energy generating plants, only during some short weeks? It is a product of intolerance, envy and hate from the side of a bigger one, the stronger one. Personal discordance! And now all the vicinity of these countries suffer from their hate. and bear from day to day an increasing threat to national security: threat of a new Hiroshima, even New Chernobyl, And why? because these too huge neighbor peoples cannot talk diplomatically and do agreements This bad war has nothing to do with the WW II motifs. That one is already managed, old bones, old gallows. This war becomes from a new generation, or second or third generation all born after the WW II : new hate, new intolerance, new generation of originally bad people with real own cruel mind, which did not have anything to do with these doomed ones and their ancient cruelty, those got what their earned, Now their is not even the same civilized righteous ones who already then, before these 3- 4 generation were born, did righteous deeds in right time. But the- cruelty -now is an intrinsic feature in some people , but everyone can not realize cruelties. It is not a good thing if the leader of a huge people is a cruel one.. It is a very bad luck to all mankind that moment ( this moment to-day). Some ones also want to bring and cause catastrophes in incomprehensible, unimaginable scale to an organized, peaceful society and a sovereign nation. or perhaps to many nations, who knows such kind a mind! Units of many smaller nations try to gather their minds together and find a way to keep their intrinsic order and peace of their country and nation, an protection towards such existential uncertainties.
