KAMPALA, Uganda: An armed group in South Sudan has abducted 89 boys in a northern state, the U.N. children’s agency said Saturday.

The boys, some as young as 13, were abducted near Malakal, the capital of Upper Nile state, according to a UNICEF statement.

The children were abducted while doing their exams in the town of Wau Shilluk, said the statement, citing a UNICEF education team.

Armed men surrounded the community and searched house by house, forcibly taking boys older than 12, said witnesses, according to the UNICEF statement.

“The recruitment and use of children by armed forces destroys families and communities. Children are exposed to incomprehensible levels of violence, they lose their families and their chance to go to school,” said Jonathan Veitch, the UNICEF representative in South Sudan.

It is not clear which group carried out the abductions.

Watchdog groups have persistently accused South Sudan’s warring factions of actively recruiting and using child soldiers.

South Sudan’s government denied recent allegations by Human Rights Watch that its military is targeting children for enlistment.

Realtime help to Tal Tamr

February 26, 2015

JP, BEIRUT 26th Feb 2015  – A US-led alliance launched air strikes on Thursday against Islamic State positions in an area of northeastern Syria where the group is estimated to have abducted at least 220 Assyrian Christians this week, a group monitoring the war reported.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the air strikes had targeted Islamic State fighters near town of Tel Tamr, where the militants attacked a string of Assyrian villages earlier this week.

Former Iraqi Minister: ISIS Seeks to ‘Annihilate Christian Presence’ in Iraq
By Thomas D. Williams
Pascale Warda, former Iraq Minister of Immigration and Refugees.

“A real genocide is occurring in Iraq that nobody wants to talk about and no international body is dealing with,” said former Iraqi Minister Pascale Warda Tuesday.According to Warda, the Islamic State (ISIS) is determined to “annihilate” the Christian presence and all social and religious minorities that oppose its principles, despite the fact that the Christian community in Iraq dates back to the first century, long before the arrival of Islam.

“In Mosul for the first time in two thousand years the Eucharist is no longer celebrated,” she said. “It is a very dark historical period” for the Chaldeans.

Warda, the former minister of Immigration and Refugees in the Iraqi Interim Government from 2004-2005, was speaking at a press conference organized in Madrid by the foundation “Aid to the Church in Need.”

A Chaldean Catholic and president of the Hammurabi Human Rights Organization, Warda warned Tuesday that as an international movement of terrorism, the Islamic State requires international solutions. She called for “international aid” against the “attempt to annihilate” Christians. “We need international help to fight the Islamic State. It is diabolical. It is an international movement of terrorism and requires real international solutions,” she said.

“The Islamic State wants to destroy Christianity and all minorities,” she said.

Warda is a leading voice against violations of religious liberty in Iraq and, since the emergence of the Islamic State, has documented human rights abuses committed in her country.

“Christians are being slaughtered and have to figure out how to reestablish their existence in a country that belonged to them long before anyone else. It is very difficult, there are few and they are debilitated,” she said.

Islamic State (ISIS) terrorists have kidnapped dozens of Christians in northern Syria. According to reports, some sources state that as many as 90 were abducted from their homes near Tal Tamr.

The Assyrian International News Agency (AINA) reports that four Assyrian fighters were killed as a result of the battles, along with tens of ISIS jihadists. AINA also reported that while dozens have been abducted, other Christian communities are now completely surrounded by the Islamic terrorists.

The Islamic State also destroyed a “number of churches” in the area, which include the churches in Tel Hurmiz, Tel Shamiran, and Tel Baloua, AINA reports.

Approximately 3,000 residents have been forced to flee their Assyrian communities in Syria. A source on the ground told AINA that people who live in the villages have not been answering their phones, and that some of the calls have been answered by ISIS jihadists.

Leviticus Chapter 19
1 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:
2 Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them: Ye shall be holy; for I the LORD your God am holy.
3 Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father, and ye shall keep My sabbaths: I am the LORD your God.
4 Turn ye not unto the idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the LORD your God.
5 And when ye offer a sacrifice of peace-offerings unto the LORD, ye shall offer it that ye may be accepted.
6 It shall be eaten the same day ye offer it, and on the morrow; and if aught remain until the third day, it shall be burnt with fire.
7 And if it be eaten at all on the third day, it is a vile thing; it shall not be accepted.
8 But every one that eateth it shall bear his iniquity, because he hath profaned the holy thing of the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from his people.
9 And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corner of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleaning of thy harvest.
10 And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather the fallen fruit of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and for the stranger: I am the LORD your God.
11 Ye shall not steal; neither shall ye deal falsely, nor lie one to another.
12 And ye shall not swear by My name falsely, so that thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.
13 Thou shalt not oppress thy neighbour, nor rob him; the wages of a hired servant shall not abide with thee all night until the morning.
14 Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumbling-block before the blind, but thou shalt fear thy God: I am the LORD.
15 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment; thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor favour the person of the mighty; but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.
16 Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people; neither shalt thou stand idly by the blood of thy neighbour: I am the LORD.
17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thy heart; thou shalt surely rebuke thy neighbour, and not bear sin because of him.
18 Thou shalt not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.
19 Ye shall keep My statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind; thou shalt not sow thy field with two kinds of seed; neither shall there come upon thee a garment of two kinds of stuff mingled together.
20 And whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, that is a bondmaid, designated for a man, and not at all redeemed, nor was freedom given her; there shall be inquisition; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free.
21 And he shall bring his forfeit unto the LORD, unto the door of the tent of meeting, even a ram for a guilt-offering.
כב וְכִפֶּר עָלָיו הַכֹּהֵן בְּאֵיל הָאָשָׁם, לִפְנֵי יְהוָה, עַל-חַטָּאתוֹ, אֲשֶׁר חָטָא; וְנִסְלַח לוֹ, מֵחַטָּאתוֹ אֲשֶׁר חָטָא. {פ} 22 And the priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the guilt-offering before the LORD for his sin which he hath sinned; and he shall be forgiven for his sin which he hath sinned. {P}

24 And in the fourth year all the fruit thereof shall be holy, for giving praise unto the LORD.
