ASIA/LEBANON – Frost and snow: first victims due to frostbite among the Syrian refugees

Beirut (Agenzia Fides) – The cold wave that has hit large regions of the Middle East in recent days has caused the first victims among the Syrian refugees in Lebanon. “Four people have died form hypothermia – confirms to Agenzia Fides Father Paul Karam, President of Caritas Lebanon – and concern increases, as a new drop in temperatures has been announced”. The most serious situations are recorded in the Bekaa Valley, in the north of the Country, where refugee camps have been covered by snow, roads are blocked and the temperature has dropped below zero.
The war in Syria has forced at least three million Syrian refugees to seek refuge outside their own Country. “In Lebanon – reports Fr. Karam – official estimates speak of a million 200 thousand refugees registered, but according to our estimates the real figure reaches one million 600 thousand. We are trying to do everything possible to distribute food, blankets, stoves, fuel, warm clothes. The international community has put the Syrian conflict in the shadow. And the most defenseless, those who pay the highest price are children and young people, who account for nearly half of this immense multitude of refugees”. (GV) (Agenzia Fides 14/01/2015)

ASIA/LEBANON – The Maronite League: no foreign Country can decide on the future of Lebanon

Beirut (Agenzia Fides) – For all the Lebanese “it is inconceivable that foreign parties or factions claim to determine the demographic and political scenarios of Lebanon for decades to come”. It is unacceptable “to entrust anyone to decide our fate”.
This is how the Executive Council of the Maronite League expressed itself in a public appeal in which the alarm about the “serious dangers” which threaten the identity and survival of the Lebanese nation is raised. The body, established in the seventies to support the identity and the Maronite presence in Lebanon and around the world, in the appeal describes the condition of the Lebanese State as alarming even though the country has always been a place of tolerance and cultural and civil development, both for Christians and for Muslims.
According to the leaders of the Maronite League, the Lebanese should not “align with the foreign axes that damage their homeland and their unity”.
Referring to the internal conflicts that paralyze the political and institutional life of the country, the pronouncement of the League speaks of Christians “divided between two currents involved in a historical conflict that does not concern them as Christians”, and Muslims “involved in sectarian conflicts in the background of regional strategies that cross geographical boundaries”.
In addition to highlighting the need to urgently elect a new president and to find political consensus on a new electoral law, the Maronite body indicates the path of the gradual overcoming of political confessionalism and recalls the political forces to support the neutral position of Lebanon with regards to regional conflicts, adding that “neutrality does not mean a neutral attitude toward Israel”. Hopefully, Islamic charity organizations  take more responsibility for their Islamic brothers and sisters , the Syrian refugees. They are also  situating near the   focus of the deepest  misery of our world: Islamic refugees.

http://www.iico.org/AxCMSweblive/enIndex.cms

The Christian  countries could  then more concentrate to help their  Christian Brothers and Sisers in misery.

The  far-off  western, Christian  countries and groups    face immense difficulties  to find  ways to help  the Syrian refugees,  in the very  neighborhood of prosperous Islamic states in Middle East.

Plenty of Ukrainian and French Jews   are leaving the antisemite  Europe  little by little  and  returning to the land of Ancestors.

BBC:

About France Changing atmosphere

Israel is in the middle of an election campaign, and several party leaders – including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu – have travelled to France in the aftermath of last week’s attacks.

Mr Netanyahu’s message to French Jews was simple – Israel stands ready to welcome them with open arms if they decide to come.

The body charged with overseeing the migration and absorption of Jews who exercise their right to live in Israel is the Jewish Agency, whose spokesman is Yigal Palmor.

To convey his sense of surprise – perhaps shock – at the changing atmosphere in Europe he quotes his boss, agency chairman Nathan Sharansky, who was once a dissident in the Soviet Union, jailed to punish him for wanting to move to Israel.

Mr Palmor says simply: ” He [Sharansky] says he’d never have believed a time would come when Jews would feel safe to walk down the street with their head covered in a kippah in Moscow and not in Paris… We all share that surprise. How is it possible in Paris or London or Rome that Jews do not feel safe the way they used to and the way they’re supposed to after World War Two? That’s a mystery that continues to perplex us.”

The number of Jews making enquiries about moving from France to Israel reached 50,000 last year.

As the funerals take place in Jerusalem of four of the victims of the Paris shootings it is hard to see anything on the horizon to reverse that trend or even slow it down.

Many Islamic countries are among the most wealthiest countries and they are situating near the  focus of misery. They should take the responsibility  about the  Islamic refugees  of Syria.  The Christian minority of Lebanon already   has  big  burden  when trying to help Islamic persons, who don’t care about each others. The Christians should take care , according the New Testament,  first care about the other Christians in misery, beginning  of  the own family. .

The Stone rich Islamic state could   trnsport the  refugees for for a transient  camop on their  areas until Syria is  rebuild  for to take  them bakc.  There  is much place to rebuild .The refugees coudl be transported to warm climate areas  for  to over come  unnecessary death  for unhumanities.

If Islamic countriesdo not  help islamic person,  the antisemite   and soon neonazistic other world don´t do it.

Israel  is focused to  absorb its own refugees  from anti-Israeli  world and its capacity to absorb is maximally  loaded already because of Ukraine and   global terrorism.

France  which  wanted to be very human, has absorbed 5 million islamic person and now-  has only chaos to wait  from islamic   terror  there. The same happens to every   Christian states who absorb  strange  religions and leave  Christianity trying  to be  very human, very global, better than God Himself.

And – The Islamic wealthy  states  dont t care  about their   own refugees, Islamic  masses.

UNHCR and Syrian refugees

January 15, 2015

Over 3 million Syrians are refugees. This is the biggest humanitarian emergency of our era.

Since the beginning of the conflict in Syria almost half of all Syrians have been forced to leave their home and flee for their lives in search of safety.

Thousands of refugees are struggling to stay warm and protect their shelters as heavy snow storms bringing freezing temperatures, fierce winds, and lashing rain hit Lebanon and Jordan.

Some 800,000 people, many who fled their homes in terror with just the clothes on their backs, are in need of assistance.

What is UNHCR doing to help

UNHCR began its winter aid programme in Lebanon last October, focussing on helping the most vulnerable refugees with cash, stoves and blankets.

UNHCR continues working around the clock with other agencies and aid groups providing urgently needed relief – distributing stoves and fuel for heating, insulation for tents, thermal blankets and winter clothing.

Thanks to the generous support of our donors in the past year alone, 1.7 million refugees received food aid, 350,000 children were enrolled in school, and shelter in camps was provided for more than 400,000 refugees.
