Twin Gravity Spacecraft Set to Enter Lunar Orbit

Dec. 30, 2011: NASA’s twin GRAIL spacecraft, on a mission to study the moon’s gravitational field, are nearing their New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day main-engine burns to place the duo in lunar orbit.

Named Gravity Recovery And Interior Laboratory (GRAIL), the spacecraft are scheduled to be placed into orbit beginning at 1:21 p.m. PST (4:21 p.m. EST) for GRAIL-A on Dec. 31, and 2:05 p.m. PST (5:05 p.m. EST) on Jan. 1 for GRAIL-B.

“Our team may not get to partake in a traditional New Year’s celebration, but I expect seeing our two spacecraft safely in lunar orbit should give us all the excitement we need,” said David Lehman, project manager for GRAIL at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, Calif

Mogadishu: Doctors Without Borders, 2 aid workers killed yesterday

CNN tells:

Thursday’s shooting occurred in the capital of Mogadishu at the compound of Medecins Sans Frontieres, also known as Doctors Without Borders. The slain workers provided emergency medical relief in the embattled city.

Somali Interior Minister Abdisamad Moalin Mohamud said the alleged shooter, who lost his job Wednesday, was in custody.

“He was not a simple gunman he was an employee with a high local position with the agency and he has a long history of working in the relief field ” said Mohamud, who condemned the “ugly” incident.

He stressed that insurgents did not carry out the attack. Somalia has been mired in famine and violence, spurred by the efforts of Al-Shabaab, an al Qaeda-linked militant group that has waged war against the country’s weak transitional government.

The shooting remains under investigation.

MSF identified the victims as 53-year-old Philipe Havet of Belgium, who was described as an experienced emergency coordinator who had worked with the agency since 2000 in Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Indonesia, Lebanon, Sierra Leone and South Africa.

Also killed was Andrias Karel Keiluhu, known as “Kace”, a 44-year-old doctor, who had worked with MSF since 1998 in his native Indonesia, as well as Ethiopia, Thailand and Somalia, the aid agency said.

MSF said the “exact circumstances of the shooting” are unclear.

Puutelineissä tulipalo kun korjattiin telakoitua  sukellusvenettä Murmanskin lähellä olevalla telakalla . Aseet oli poistettu korjauksen vuoksi. Sisäreaktorit suljettu. Sammutus tehty. Sammuttajilla on  savun hengityksestä vaurioita. Laivaa jäähdytettiin asettamalla se osin veteen.

‘No radiation threat’

The Yekaterinburg had been inside a dry dock at the Roslyakovo shipyard – on the Barents Sea coast, 1,500 km (900 miles) north of Moscow – on Thursday when wooden scaffolding around it caught fire.  The blaze soon spread to the submarine’s rubber-coated outer hull.

 The Yekaterinburg is part of the Russian navy’s Northern Fleet

Television pictures showed thick smoke billowing from the top of the vessel as 11 fire crews doused the flames with water from helicopters and tug boats. The submarine was later partially submerged in an effort to extinguish the blaze.

The fire was contained at 01:40 on Friday (21:40 GMT on Thursday), according to the emergency situations ministry, but by the morning, the submarine was still smouldering, and firefighters were still working at the scene, pouring water over the outer hull as well as the space between it and the inner hull, reports said.

A law enforcement source told Russian news agencies that seven servicemen at the shipyard and two emergency ministry personnel had suffered from smoke inhalation.

On Friday afternoon, Mr Shoigu told a meeting of officials the fire had been “put out completely”, and that there was “no open burning”.

He said that the cooling of the submarine’s hull would continue.

Mr Shoigu also said that “the heightened regime of monitoring the radiation situation” on board and in the surrounding area would be lifted.

Earlier, officials insisted the submarine’s two nuclear reactors had already been shut down and that radiation levels on board and in the area were normal.

“These parameters are within the limits of natural radiation fluctuation levels. There is no threat to the population,” the emergency ministry said.

The vessel’s 16 inter-continental ballistic missiles, each with four warheads, had also been removed when the repair work began, officials said.

Some of the crew remained on board the submarine during the fire to monitor temperatures and carbon dioxide levels, they added.

The Russian Navy’s Commander-in-Chief, Adm Vladimir Vysotskiy, and Chief of the Navy Staff Adm Aleksandr Tatarinov are at Roslyakovo to oversee the operation.

Abstract

An HIV-1 vaccine remains elusive, in part because various factors limit the quantity and quality of the antibodies raised against the viral envelope glycoprotein complex (Env).

We hypothesized that targeting Env vaccines directly to B cells, by fusing them to molecules that bind and activate these cells, would improve Env-specific antibody responses.

Therefore, we fused trimeric Env gp140 to A PRoliferation-Inducing Ligand (APRIL), B-cell Activating Factor (BAFF), and CD40 Ligand (CD40L). The Env-APRIL, Env-BAFF and Env-CD40L gp140 trimers all enhanced the expression of activation-induced cytidine deaminase (AID) expression, the enzyme responsible for inducing somatic hypermutation, antibody affinity maturation and antibody class-switching.

They also triggered IgM, IgG and IgA secretion from human B cells in vitro.

The Env-APRIL trimers induced higher anti-Env antibody responses in rabbits, including neutralizing antibodies against Tier 1 viruses. The enhanced Env-specific responses were not associated with a general increase in total plasma antibody concentrations, indicating that the effect of APRIL was Env-specific. All the rabbit sera raised against gp140 trimers, irrespective of the presence of CD40L, BAFF or APRIL, recognized trimeric Env efficiently, while sera raised against gp120 monomers did not.

The levels of trimer-binding and virus-neutralizing antibodies were strongly correlated, suggesting that gp140 trimers are superior immunogens to gp120 monomers. Targeting and activating B cells with a trimeric HIV-1 Env-APRIL fusion protein may therefore improve the induction of humoral immunity against HIV-1.

The Time and The Season

This Chapter is   like a reflection  about the year 2011 in the World History-

And now ,  after such  a time  and series of  revolutions and killings,  at once  should be peace and  democracy with much humanity.

It can be  at once  a larger war instead.

Really, I cannot  understand,  how  such a period of  killings at once should be as a  nice peace without any problems.

Only that    the state of military  stand-by ( armistice)   and  maintenance of   peace  by  the presence of  armed powers is  necessary

and that   is  a more heavy  load  to  the countries of real democratic  order or all the world. I think  that also the  Islamic  view about universum and about other human beings   makes it also necessary  to all Christianity  to be on watch- from Islamic  depths can   burst out  unexpected genocidal  storm – as we can see from those mutilated Christians  here and there. I suppose that  the most  dangerous genocidal  attack against mankind  comes  from  Islamic sources. They namely  think that  they are  the only  right servant of  the Only Right God and  to  annihilate other religions. So they God wants  as they want:   their  El Jad, own God. They think that their thought is divine. E.g.  that its a divine  thing to annihilate Israel and Zionists  etc.

But  We know  The God of  Israel and the Father  of Jesus Christ, The Lord Zebaoth.

Peace of the world and Life is His will, and not death of anybody.

IF  it is peace until the end of 2012, so it is a MIRACLE.

Iltasanomat kertovat:
Afganistanin viranomaiset vapauttivat maanantaina Baghlanissa 15-vuotiaan tytön, joka oli lukittuna kellarikerroksen wc-tilaan yli viiden kuukauden ajan.
Tyttö oli mennyt aikaisemmin naimisiin naapurikunnassa asuvan miehen kanssa.

Sen jälkeen hän muutti aviomiehensä kotiin. Vanhemmat eivät saaneet tyttäreensä tämän jälkeen yhteyttä, kertoo uutistoimisto AFP.

Viranomaiset pidättivät tapaukseen liittyen kolme naista mukaan lukien aviomiehen äidin.

Appivanhempien epäillään lukinneen tytön vessaan, koska tämä ei suostunut prostituutioon.

Tyttö löydettiin, kun hänen vanhempansa ilmoittivat hänet kadonneeksi.

Tyttö kiidätettiin sairaalaan. Hänellä oli vakavia vammoja muun muassa jaloissa ja kasvoissa, ja kynnet hänen vasemmasta kädestään oli poistettu.

Tuoreen kansainvälisen raportin mukaan jopa 87 prosenttia
afganistanilaisista naisista on kokenut fyysistä, henkistä tai seksuaalista väkivaltaa.

Kommentti: Suomessa yleensä mainitaan avioliittoa satamana, jossa  molemmat osapuolet ovat turvassa  ulkopuolisten väärinkäytttämisuhrin osasta, mutta Suomen ulkopuolella ei ole sama käsitys avioliitosta satamana.

Jos kristitty  suomalainen menee ulkomaalaisen kristitytn kanssa naimisiin, tulee olla laki, jossa vaaditaan aviopuolisolta että tämä ei ota muita  puolisoita itselleen, jos on kristitty, eikä  käytä otettua suomalaista puolisoa  seurapiirinsä  seksiuhriksi. Laki on tarpeen Suomen kansalaisen suojaksi, koska Suomesta puuttu käsitys avioliiton käyttämisestä  tuossa mielessä väärin. Suomen lain nojalla voisi täten pelastaa suomalaiseen kulttuuriin takaisin  eräänlaisen määrän merenneitoja.

Kaikki muut uskonnothan ovat  tavalla tai toisella epäkristillisiä avioliittokäsityksen suhteen, muutenhan  ne olisivat kristinuskoa. Jopa itse pyhässä maassa vallitsee vapaa seksi kuten  Ruotsissa ym länsimaassa, kertoilivat  eräät leeviläiset

Siis  kristillistä moraalia  ei käytetä tyttöjen  kasvatuksessa, mutta esim  laskujen  maksussa ja  raitiovaunulippujen maksussa  ym  suositellaan kristillistä moraalia – mintuista ja tilleistä kyllä kymmenykset– mutta ihminen sukupolvi,  tulevaisuuden  kansan äidit ja isät,   kadotetaan. Länsimaissa ei ole paljon afganistanilaisuutta  korkeampi moraali. Ns  “naisen vapautuminen”  on vain länsimaisen  moraalin puitteissa yhä pienempien tyttöjen, yhä nuorempien   naisten tekemistä  ilmaisprostituutioon alttiiksi.
